Thought #2 - Clouds | Sept. 9th, 2026

Clouds are spectacular. There’s really no other way to put it. Massive structures of water and dust that happen to be formed by the fluid of the air undulating against itself. They float in the sky at different levels and form a variety of patterns and shapes. They can be seen from miles and miles away.

I find it incredible. For one, I hate a clear sky. Everyone seems to find it a good sign, like that the day is clear and fresh. I find it static, like the world lost a dimension in itself. Whisps of clouds help, but they feel fake at times as well, like something a child would draw. For me, real clouds are those that span across the sky, that shatter the monotony of the blue and create a feeling of depth.

It’s like an anchor for the mind, to change physical location but look up and see the same thing in the sky. Or at least, vaguely similar. The sky is full of ever-changing currents that push and pull and rip apart and create clouds. One minute you see a cloud in the shape of a familiar animal and the next it morphs into a memory you’d forgotten generations ago.

The most popular clouds are probably the fluffy white ones called cumulus clouds. They’re probably the ones that complement a clear blue sky for most people. I prefer that of stratus, that of which is a net of thin clouds that span the entire sky. The random changes in opacity that lead to part of the blue peeking through makes it less of a depressing gray mess and more of, how do i put this, the feeling of seeing a fractal in nature. It’s satisfying, in a way.

Then there’s those moments when the sky comes alive with the glow of a sunset. The conclusion to the day, instigated by the main source of light and warmth of the planet setting behind the horizon. And it’s beautiful. The gradient that the sky becomes, with the darker blues on the opposite side of the sky transitioning into those pinks and oranges. And then the clouds reflect it, adding yet another layer of depth to the sky.

It’s an indescribable feeling. In an empty parking lot at dusk, gazing up at the heavens as the once colorless clouds come alive. A sense of wonder that a simple arrangement of atoms in the sky can create. Such is the beauty of life, simplicity invoking complexity. I love clouds.

Thought #1 - Friends | Sept. 7th, 2026

Some things matter more than others. But do people? We subconciously seem to rank people in our lives, not in a bracket but in how much we interact, in how much we care, in how much we talk. Those at the bottom are eventually not even thought of anymore. It's a quiet exit. (Weekly Quote #1)

Sometimes it does help scavenging back through old texts and memories to find those you've lost. Some of them were for a reason of course. But the other times it's sad to see them go. I think for most of them it's hard to find a way to reconnect without being too awkward. It's the same situation on their side, because they also haven't messaged you. If you're lucky and a connection is re-established, then they will once again climb the ranks.

Then again, there's only so many you can manage at once. You only have so much time in a day, and you really can't devote all of it towards talking or hanging out. I believe I read somewhere that there's a limited number of acquantances, friends, close friends, and best friends one is actually able to manage, somewhere around 130 total. Obviously most of those won't be spent any time on, maybe like a couple of minutes maximum.
